Supporting Student Success

Many talented WSCO students face financial barriers that make earning a degree challenging. The WSCO Foundation Annual Scholarship Fund provides critical support to help them complete their education and build meaningful careers.

Scholarship demand continues to grow—297 students applied for scholarships through the WSCO Foundation during the 2025-2026 academic year. However, due to limited funding, only 42% of applicants were awarded scholarships. Your support can help bridge this gap, providing more students with the financial assistance they need to achieve their educational goals.

Every dollar raised at this event directly funds scholarships, helping students access the opportunities they deserve.

Meet the Band

Hailing from the scenic river towns of Marietta, Ohio, and Vienna, West Virginia, The John Walsh Trio—affectionately known to their fans as The JW3—delivers a soulful, acoustic-driven journey through the heart of the Great American Songbook.

Blending folk, rock, and pop sensibilities, the trio has become a staple of the regional music scene, known for their tight musicianship, intricate arrangements, and an unmistakable chemistry that only comes from decades of shared history.

The Lineup

The JW3 is anchored by three distinct musical personalities:

  • John A. Walsh: Lead vocals and guitar. The primary songwriter and the group’s melodic compass.
  • Bill White: Keyboards. Providing the rich textures and foundational grooves that define their sound.
  • Andrew Colvin: Percussion. The rhythmic heartbeat who joined the fold in 2006, rounding out the trio’s polished sound.

A Legacy of Collaboration

The JW3 isn’t just a band; it’s a testament to musical brotherhood. Walsh and White first began their collaboration in 1983, forging a creative bond that has spanned over forty years. This deep-rooted connection allows the band to anticipate every turn in a melody, creating a live experience that feels both spontaneous and impeccably crafted.

The Sound & The Setlist

Their performances are a curated blend of nostalgia and fresh perspective. A typical JW3 set pays homage to the legendary singer-songwriters of the 60s and 70s, featuring acoustic reinventions of classics by the likes of:

  • The Icons: The Beatles, Elton John, The Eagles, and Bruce Springsteen.
  • The Troubadours: Jackson Browne, Neil Young, and James Taylor.

Interwoven with these timeless covers are original songs by John A. Walsh, which stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the classics, offering listeners a glimpse into his own storytelling and melodic craftsmanship.

Whether they are playing an intimate venue or a regional festival, The JW3 brings a warm, “living room” energy to the stage—inviting the audience to sit back, reminisce, and discover something new in the songs they love.
