Sondra Holbert
Outstanding Community Service
Sondra began her journey at Washington State in 2000 at the age of 43 while working full time and attending classes two nights a week.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2005 with an Associate Degree in Business Management and was selected as a graduation speaker for her class,
later earning her bachelor’s degree Summa Cum Laude from DeVry University.
Through her extensive involvement with Phi Theta Kappa, Sondra has helped lead numerous community service initiatives supporting organizations such as the YMCA, Marietta Memorial Hospital, the Humane Society, EVE, Inc., and Habitat for Humanity.
In 2013, she led her PTK chapter in raising more than $10,000 for Relay for Life in the fight against cancer.
Sondra is also deeply committed to mentoring and developing student leaders. Through her guidance, many students have grown into leadership roles within PTK, including one student who advanced from a WSCO chapter member to President of the Ohio Region.
Her dedication to WSCO extends beyond mentorship. Sondra has served on the WSCO Foundation Board of Directors and established the Sondra Holbert PTK Scholarship to support students pursuing their education.
Today, her spirit of service continues as she leads the Lutheran Church of Parkersburg’s food pantry and organizes outreach projects that bring joy to residents in local nursing homes.
Jill Deming
Outstanding Professional Achievement
A 1983 cum laude graduate of Washington Technical College, Jill earned her Associate Degree in Data Processing, building the technical foundation that would guide her career in data management and prospect research.
For more than 25 years, Jill has supported philanthropic initiatives that strengthen our region.
She spent 19 years at Marietta College in the Advancement Department as a prospect researcher and database administrator, providing the data analysis and strategic insight that helped guide major gift development and fundraising success.
After retiring from Marietta College in 2023, Jill continued her work in philanthropy by joining Memorial Health Foundation, where she now supports initiatives that expand healthcare access and improve patient outcomes across the Mid-Ohio Valley.
In addition to her professional achievements, Jill has demonstrated a deep commitment to community service, serving on the Board of Directors for EVE, Inc., — which provides shelter and support for survivors of domestic violence.
She is currently serving as the organization’s Board President.

This has been a remarkable year- not only did we embrace our new name, but we proudly introduced our first Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, expanding our commitment to providing exceptional education and career-ready graduates.
