MARIETTA, OHIO — Washington State College of Ohio (WSCO) has named Jacklyn Callihan as its new Executive Director of Marketing, Advancement and Foundation Relations. In this expanded leadership role, Callihan will oversee the College’s strategic marketing initiatives, philanthropic development, alumni engagement, and foundation operations while strengthening partnerships that support student success and long-term institutional growth.
Callihan returned to WSCO in 2022, building on her earlier service as Assistant Director of Admissions. Most recently serving as Director of Marketing, she guided the College through a significant period of institutional transformation, including its brand evolution and strengthened integration between marketing, enrollment, and advancement strategy. Her career at WSCO has spanned admissions, enrollment, and executive marketing leadership, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of how institutional strategy and philanthropic support directly impact student access and success.
“Jacklyn understands our students because she has worked alongside them at every stage of their journey,” said WSCO President Dr. Sarah Parker. “Her leadership has strengthened our enrollment strategy, elevated our institutional presence, and positioned the College for continued growth. She has demonstrated the ability to align marketing, enrollment, and advancement in a way that directly benefits our students and community.”
Prior to returning to WSCO, Callihan held leadership roles in hospitality management and workforce development, where she drove revenue growth, expanded community partnerships, and led high-performing teams. Her cross-sector experience in recruitment, sales, marketing, and organizational leadership provides a strong foundation for advancing the College’s philanthropic and community engagement efforts.
Beyond her institutional leadership, Callihan remains actively engaged in statewide and national professional development initiatives. She is participating in the Ohio Association of Community Colleges (OACC) Leadership Academy and will join the Aspen Institute Community of Practice focused on strategic communication. She currently serves as Secretary of the OACC Marketing and Communications Professionals Council, contributing to statewide collaboration and strategy among Ohio’s community colleges.
Her commitment to service and community engagement is reflected locally as well. Callihan serves on the Board of Directors for the Marietta-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau and previously held leadership roles with the Parkersburg Area Jaycees, serving as Treasurer, Vice President, and President. She was also named WSCO’s “Super Hero,” an annual award recognizing an individual who consistently goes above and beyond in service to the College and its mission.
“I am honored to step into this expanded role and continue serving Washington State,” said Callihan. “Our Foundation plays a critical role in removing barriers for students and creating pathways to opportunity. I look forward to working alongside alumni, donors, business leaders, and community partners to grow support that empowers students to succeed.”
Callihan holds a Master of Arts in Sociology from Ohio University, where her research focused on economic, social, and regional barriers impacting Appalachian communities. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Shawnee State University and has been recognized for academic excellence and leadership throughout her career.
