MARIETTA—Pioneer Antique Auto Club (PAAC) of the Mid-Ohio Valley and the local Wendy’s franchise, recently made a $5,000 donation to the Washington State College of Ohio (WSCO) Foundation to support the Wendy’s Adoption Scholarship.

PAAC, working in conjunction with Wendy’s franchise owners Ray and Kim Blackburn, contributed $3,000 from funds they raised during their monthly car show held from June through October at various locations in the Mid-Ohio Valley. The remaining $2,000 was donated by the Blackburns.

“We are grateful for the longstanding relationship we have with the Blackburns and PAAC. Their support has helped change the lives of many Washington State students. This annual contribution to the fund ensures it will continue to help our students who are adopted or have been in the foster care system,” said WSCO Foundation Director Megan Marion.

The Wendy’s Adoption Scholarship fund was established by the Blackburns in 2013. The couple was inspired by their own experiences as foster parents to act as advocates for adoption and support the cause through fundraising for the Dave Thomas Adoption Fund and the creation of the WSCO Wendy’s Adoption Scholarship. Since it was established, the scholarship has benefited 37 students.
