Accounting ranks as one of the top career opportunities in the field of business. It's a versatile occupation where professionals can be found working for corporations, individuals, non-profits, and the government. Because of the wide variety of jobs available, earning a degree in accounting is highly desirable.
Our program is designed to provide a concentration of financial and managerial accounting with related business and computer courses. Some of our students graduate and immediately begin working in the profession. Others opt to transfer to a four-year college and earn their bachelor's degree. Either way, starting your Accounting future at WSCO is a smart choice.
Successful completion of the program leads to the Associate of Applied Business degree.
Program Learning Outcomes:
- Recognize and analyze accounting concepts, data, processes, and authoritative guidance necessary to record accounting data accurately and completely.
- Use industry-appropriate journals, ledgers, and other accounting repositories for collecting, organizing, and storing pertinent accounting data to review and report financial activity.
- Produce reports, financial statements, and other financial information for internal use by management for decision-making.
- Produce reports, financial statements, and other financial information for external use by stakeholders and regulatory bodies for compliance and decision making.
- Analyze accounting information using industry-specific tools and processes to determine the financial health and flexibility of an entity.
