THE OPPORTUNITY

While designing and implementing our Guided Pathways vision, Washington State has focused on innovation and excellence to improve student success. Now it is time to celebrate those innovations in education and student support. We would like to recognize outstanding faculty and staff who have made a significant difference in the lives of our students and the community with Washington State's first Excellence Awards.

Each year the college will give the following three Excellence Awards: Excellence in Teaching, Excellence in Student Support, and Exemplary Community Service.

From now until March 31, 2024, we invite you to nominate those who exemplify innovation and excellence in teaching, student support, and community service for the 2023-2024 Washington State Excellence Awards.

What are the Excellence Awards?

The Excellence Awards recognize outstanding faculty and staff for innovation and excellence in teaching and student support; a person who has made a significant difference in the lives of our students. The Excellence Award for Community Service is given to an employee who has demonstrated exemplary service to support their community.

How are individuals selected for an Excellence Award?

The selection for the three Excellence Awards is based on information submitted in the nomination form.

Who can submit nominations for an Excellence Award?

Any Washington State employee or student may submit a nominee(s) for the Excellence Awards by completing the nomination form.

What is the deadline to submit nominee names?

The deadline for the 2023-2024 Excellence Awards is March 31, 2024. The honorees will be recognized at the Employee Appreciation Event in the spring.
